Overview

Known for its quality and reliability, the MTL7700 range of intrinsically safe passive network devices uses Zener diodes, resistors and fuses to safely divert excess electrical energy to ground, preventing sparking or overheating of equipment in hazardous areas.

This helps to ensure a safe working environment and protects people and assets from explosion risks.

Design and installation

As a DIN-rail mounted barrier, the MTL7700 provides quick and easy installation without the need for special hardware. Removable terminals allow easy installation, maintenance and loop disconnection by simply unplugging the terminals from the side of the module.

Angled wire entry assists wiring within limited space enclosures.

Reliable IS earthing

MTL7700 barriers clamp securely onto standard T-section DIN rail, simultaneously providing a reliable intrinsically safe earth connection.

Field power capability

For applications requiring field power for switch inputs or 2-wire transmitters, the MTL7700 range offers a bussed power feed facility. When used with the MTL7798 power feed module, users obtain a fully protected, electronically fused supply to multiple barriers without additional wiring.
