Design features
Eaton offers three flexible solutions for redundant fieldbus power supplies:
MTL 9180 Range – N+1 Redundant Fieldbus Power Supplies
The MTL 9180 range is recommended for all new applications. Its unique N+1 redundancy architecture provides maximum flexibility for system designers, allowing initial project requirements to be met using two power supply modules per segment, with the option to add a third module later as system expansion demands increase.
This approach typically delivers up to 25% savings in initial capital cost compared with conventional 1+1 redundant architectures. High system availability is achieved through the use of passive components for power conditioning, galvanic isolation and regulation, delivering redundant fieldbus power up to 28V, 500mA per segment.

MTL F800 Range – High Density Fieldbus Power Supplies
The MTL F800 range is an eight-segment, high-density fieldbus power supply system. Module carriers provide terminations for eight fieldbus segments and allow mounting of two F801 or F802 power supply modules.
The F801 power supply modules provide eight outputs rated at 21.5V, 350mA. The F802 power supply modules provide eight outputs rated at 28V, 500mA, making them suitable for applications with fieldbus trunk lengths greater than 600m or heavily loaded fieldbus barrier installations.
Both options ensure that one fieldbus terminator is included for each segment. The F800 carriers themselves contain no electronic components, maximizing MTBF and overall system availability.

MTL FPS Range – Legacy Fieldbus Power Conditioners
The legacy MTL FPS range provides redundant fieldbus power for a single fieldbus segment and is available with or without an integrated terminator.
